Epoxy putty, wire, and polyurethane resin.

The sculpture stands 9 1/2" off its base. The bell jar and base together are just under 12".

Daily Deviation

Given 2009-05-26

Bell Jar Baby by *MrSoles This is a new deviantART account, but I couldn't help sharing this Deviant's work. The whole Gallery is something to marvel at, but this particular piece is well worth the notice. I like the symbolism with aging. Seems to say that no matter how old we get, we remain as young as ever, and that our contemplations are also immortal. (Featured by `2dazed)

We have tasted from the poisoned gift of love,
Which condemned us to forever fly alone...

I remember when this was posted and I could sear I commented on it! Well, here I am now! LOL! The crafting of this guy is so well done and I love to collect oddities like this! So beautiful and creepy at the same time, but definitely one great conversation piece! Excellent work and congratulations on the DD!

Wow I love it.
Very well done.
Did you also made the skull from Epoxie?
I use the Aves Apoxie sculpt a lot but it's not so nice to sculpt detailed with it.
Much to soft and sticky.

I can't believe this got a daily deviation considering the rest of your gallery, dude, but congratulations anyway.

People just breezing through because of the daily dev... seriously, go look at his full gallery. This is nothing as far as what Jason is capable.

Baby Num Nums lives in a bell jar,
no worries for his parents, he can't get far.
Surrounded by glass and sitting on a shelf,
it can be lonely being by one's self.

Lost some weight, thats for sure,
being in a jar is childhood obesity's cure.
Keeping a kid in a jar thats shaped like a bell,
is sorta morbid but Baby Num Nums parents think its swell.

How did he/she live and die? I don't know, I don't want to pry. Soon Baby Num Nums will not be the only one where he/she is sittin', they just freeze dried and stuffed the family kitten!

Now Baby Num Nums will get a friend and this is where this poem will end.

Looks great.
